GEBHARDT has been developing and manufacturing efficient logistics solutions for trade and industry for 190 years. The company, with its headquarters in Cham, is already being successfully managed as a family business in the 6th generation. Traditional values have been part of the corporate philosophy from the very beginning. At the same time, entrepreneurial vision and a willingness to innovate have always been the driving force behind change and steady, sustainable growth. Today, GEBHARDT generates a turnover of 75 million euros with just under 400 employees at five production sites worldwide.

 

The strength of GEBHARDT is a joint effort of all Gebhardtians. Teams in our own development, construction and production work day after day on the optimal products and system solutions for the customer. They are supported by colleagues from all departments of the company. Every contribution is important, regardless of whether it is made in the foreground or background.

The management

A strong management team

"It is a pleasure to be able to take on responsibility as the 6th generation," says Ute Lesch-Gebhardt. Since 2020, Thomas Bauer (COO) and Andreas Schmidberger (CFO) have supported the owners Ute and Franz Lesch as members of the management.

 

GEBHARDT is one of the oldest family-owned companies in Germany. As a consequence, the family is therefore involved as a member of the board of trustees in the Family Business Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is the promotion, information, education and training as well as the scientific exchange of experience in the field of family entrepreneurship in Europe.

Our company history began in 1829. From a simple timber business, we developed into a leading industrial company in the logistics sector. Entrepreneurial vision and a willingness to innovate have always been our driving force for change and steady, sustainable growth.

Responsibility for the environment and society

Returnable load carriers - the epitome of resource-saving and efficient packaging. They are reusable and robust, making optimum use of storage and transport space while protecting the product. Their use ranges from the food trade and food production to automotive and tire manufacturing. For over 190 years, GEBHARDT has been ensuring that customers' logistics processes are sustainably optimized.

 

As an employer, GEBHARDT is also committed to environmentally friendly measures. Economic and ecological growth go hand in hand for us. Gradually, the company fleet is being converted to electric or hybrid cars, which are charged by the photovoltaic system on the roof of the company building. With investments in renewable energies and further projects for energy refurbishment, we want to take responsibility for a more sustainable future and improve the company's CO² balance in the long term.

 

As a family business, GEBHARDT is also committed to social responsibility in the region:

 

With initiatives such as "ASV Cham Jugendhandball-Champ" or grants, local clubs and fire departments are supported in their club work. We work with regional schools and educational institutions through campaigns such as "Technik für Kinder" or through student internships and student jobs.

 

Employees also get involved, for example in "Sternstundensammlung" or typing events. As an initiator of the Bauhaus, GEBHARDT is committed to the Cham art scene as a sponsor. Ute Lesch is active as a member of the board of trustees of the "Stiftung Familienunternehmen" (a Family Business Foundation).

    We consider ourselves as process understanders and logistic process consultants. We penetrate the existing systematics to understand them and find the right levers for optimization. A cooperative relationship with our customers helps us to include upstream and downstream interfaces in our analysis and to obtain a holistic picture.

    During the complete development process, our customers receive full support and reliable assistance. Starting with the concept creation in 2D or 3D mode, through container designs, prototypes, pre-series or series failure samples, up to the series load carriers, we are the experienced partner for complex solution requirements.

    For a consistently high quality of our products

    Inspections and tests in our in-house Test and Technology Center (TTC) are the basis for more safety in logistics processes. To ensure the high quality of our products, the entire production process is also repeatedly put to the test. We work together with official institutions such as TÜV. The results are documented in test reports and certificates.
